The trip is demanding. You must have experience in skiing off-piste, and preferably tried to go on a summit tour.
Avalanche package is mandatory on all ski trips with Svalbard Wildlife Expeditions*
The price includes:
- Transport round trip accommodation
- Food and hot drinks
- Headlamp
- Guide with necessary safety equipment
It is recommended to bring:
- Ski boots*
- Ski equipment (skis, poles, traps and helmet)*
- Avalanche package (search probe, shovel and avalanche beacon)*
- Warm clothes
- Cold drink (preferably in a thermos as liquid can freeze to ice)
- Camera
- Warm jumper for the journey home and breaks
- Daypack
*NOK 450 rental of avalanche package
*NOK 1100 rental of ski package including ski boots

Itinerary
Join us on a guided ski touring tour towards the more challenging Nordenskiöld mountain. Maybe we will reach the highest point if the weather and conditions allow it. We start with a safety briefing and beacon check, before we start on the ascent from Nybyen / Sverdrupbyen. Our goal is the summit of Nordenskiöldfjellet at 1,050 m above sea level.
Along the way, we take a break with a hot expedition lunch while we enjoy the silence and look at the beautiful Svalbard nature. The view is fantastic also on the way up.
There are different routs down and based on the groups skiing level you will together with the guide decide the best way down. Even though it is local favourite we can promise you that there not will be many others.
