Tour Description
Embark on an exciting ski touring adventure to Nordenskiöld Peak, the tallest mountain near Longyearbyen, standing at 1,050 meters above sea level. This full-day tour combines steady ascents, breathtaking views, and the thrill of exploring a classic Svalbard landscape — a vast, treeless expanse with endless mountains and glaciers stretching to the horizon.
One of our experienced guides will pick you up and begin the day with a safety briefing and route review, tailoring the journey to the group’s skill level and the day’s conditions. The climb is both challenging and rewarding, offering a sense of accomplishment as we gradually make our way upward. During the ascent, we’ll pause to enjoy a warm expedition lunch, surrounded by the stillness and beauty of the Arctic wilderness. Weather and conditions permitting, we may reach the summit, where panoramic views of Svalbard’s majestic mountains await. Despite being a local favorite, this area remains wonderfully uncrowded, ensuring a serene and personal experience.
The descent combines excitement and careful navigation through one of the most pristine and remote landscapes on Earth. With significant altitude gain, incredible scenery, and an exhilarating ski down, this tour is perfect for those seeking a blend of adventure and connection to nature. And for those visiting during late April to May, the Midnight Sun adds a magical touch, letting you bask in daylight even after a full day of skiing.
It’s a great choice for experienced skiers looking for a full day in the mountains. Contact us for more information or to book your spot.
