Itinerary
Sarkofagen is located to the south/west of Longyearbyen, between the two glaciers Larsbreen and Longyearbreen. The trip starts towards the mountain Sarkofagen, which is 500 meters high. We use spikes or snowshoes if the conditions demand it during winter.
Along the way, we will have the opportunity to either go on Larsbreen or Longyearbreen, depending on the conditions on the glacier and in the moraine landscape.
At the top we enjoy the view of Longyearbyen and Adventfjorden.
On the return trip, we often choose the opposite side to the route we chose up the mountain.
