Description
Itinerary
Join us for a trip up Platåfjellet (424msl), with a great view of Longyearbyen. The tour starts at the cableway central at the foot of Platåfjellet. We go up to the cairn and, if conditions permit, we continue a short distance further onto the plateau.
The walk is sometimes quite steep, but still suits most people in average shape as it is not too long. At the top, a beautiful view of the city and the surrounding countryside awaits. In the dark, we use headlamps, unless the moon illuminates our path. If we're lucky, we'll experience the magical northern lights.
