Evening Hike to the Cairn (Varden): Hiking and learning about sustainable tourism

Join Svalbard Wildlife Expeditions for a local hike as part of the Sustainability Week of 2024 -

We wish to share the natural magic through one of our most sustainable hikes, up to Varden and Platåfjellet where you will have the well-known panoramic view of our little town.

During this trip you will gain insight into how our company works to sustain our natural surroundings and ecosystem, as well as share own experiences, knowledge of the environment and the history of Svalbard.

Svalbard Wildlife Expeditions is a small and local tour operator with deep roots (over 30 years in Svalbard) and focusing on the use of your own body, non-motorized activities, and small groups per guide in magical nature.

NOTE:  limited number of spaces, sign up to join, max. 8 spaces.

Duration: 2 hours

Destination: Varden (Cairn on top of Platåfjellet)

Amount: Max 8 guests

Meeting point: Cableway Central (Taubanesentralen)

Included:

• Warm drink and biscuits
• Spikes/hiking poles if needed*
• Guide with necessary safety equipment

*We will bring extra spikes/poles in case needed but recommend bringing your own if you have.
