If you are passionate skitourer and want to experience skitouring in a way that fit perfectly with Svalbard, this is the trip for you.
Light for most of the day and the tree line is 1300 km south. In this area snow builds up since September. Come and visit our favorite playground. We include all varieties of enjoying the arctic snow (Randonnee, splitboard and Telemark skies).
Ski touring in Svalbard is not about the perfect snow or the steepest ride but about skiing in a remote and untouched land. On this trip you will learn how to set up a camp in the arctic, how to be out in the cold and how to move in the Arctic environment. Of course, we will do it with skies.
We will camp in an area between the wonderful peaks.
You will see what means to camp in the arctic and in polar bear terrain! Everyone participating will take part in keeping polar bear watch during the nights in shifts to keep the camp safe.
The guide will of course guide you through all expedition.

As our groups are international, our tours are guided in English.

We will adapt the day and the route to the weather and snow conditions but you find following the planned schedule:

Day 1:

At 09:00 you will be picked up by the guide at your choice of accommodation. During the morning, you have the opportunity to get acquainted with the other participants and to make sure you brought the necessary equipment. The guide will brief you on the plan of the next 4 days and give you an updated weather forecast. We will pack and prepare the pulkas before we end the meeting. Those who have a need to supplement their equipment will have time to do so.
We will have lunch together in our storage and after lunch we will start our adventure, reaching the camp site. All together we install the camp, all camp facilities and establish all routines. It is time for dinner.

Day 2:

After breakfast we discuss where to go skiing according to weather and avalanche condition. We have many opportunities around our camp site - Rounds trips over glaciers or up to the tops of the mountains. You can both enjoying the arctic scenery and feel what it means to be out in the arctic nature . In case of bad weather or after the skiing we have the possibility to explore an ice cave.

In April - The day is long and the night never really comes.

Day 3:

After breakfast we pack down the camp, pack our pulka and head back to town. On the way back, we will have the chance to do more skiing.

We plan to be back in town around 16:00

This trip is suitable for:

Age limit: 16 years
Level: 4 of 5 (skilled people)
The hike is moderately difficult where you should have some experience skiing off-trail.

Medium camping demanding, our guide will teach and help before and during camp.
